    • The aim of the present work was to study the effects of tylosin A and doxycycline administration to laying hens on egg nutritional and compositional parameters during antibiotic treatment and after a withdrawal period. Doxycycline treatment in contrast to tylosin A treatment caused more significant changes in the studied compounds, especially in yolks collected after the withdrawal period and egg yolk components related to the lipid fraction. Most of these changes appeared as an increase of the levels of the studied compounds, if compared to the control samples. It should be pointed out that the egg yolks from laying hens treated with these antibiotics suffered an increase of the sensitivity of lipid oxidation (?-tocopherol content decreased and TBARS values increased). As a consequence of this rise, negative effects on organoleptic qualities and on nutritional properties of laying eggs and its derivatives can appear.
