  • Resumen
    • Gender inequality in adolescents with disabilities is a critical issue that has been widely explored in the scientific literature. This article provides a comprehensive review of existing research in this area. The literature reveals that adolescent girls with disabilities face numerous challenges and disparities compared to their male counterparts and non disabled peers. Common findings highlight educational barriers, including discrimination and limited support, which lead to restricted access to quality education. In addition, these girls encounter difficulties in achieving economic autonomy due to prejudice, inadequate training, physical barriers and discriminatory attitudes of employers. They are also at greater risk of gender-based violence, such as sexual abuse and domestic violence, and often have difficulty seeking help and reporting incidents due to communication barriers and discrimination. Access to adequate health care, including sexual and reproductive health services, is also a concern, as they often face stigma, lack of information and discrimination. Addressing gender inequality among adolescents with disabilities requires a cross-sectoral approach, encompassing policies and programmes that promote gender equality, inclusive education, equal employment opportunities and accessible health services. In addition, it is crucial to raise awareness i" soc'ety about the specific rights and needs of these adolescents, fostering a culture of respect, equality and empowerment. The synthesis of existing literature underlines the urgent need to prioritise and address these disparities in a comprehensive manner.
