Entre a transparência e a opacidade: uma análise discursiva de traduções do "Satyricon" de Petrônio para o português do Brasil

    The present paper will analyze excerpts from translations of the Latin work Satyricon, by Petronius specifically in three translations into Brazilian Portuguese. By reflecting that translation, as well as the original, are open to interdiscourse and the possibilities of saying, producing several meanings far the same text, I will return to the definition of «translator function», discussed by Solange Mittmann, who is based on the idea that the translator seeks to create the «illusion» that whoever speaks in the translation text is the author of the original, trying to show a «total identification with the original». Far the author, there is a distancing between the two voices in the Notes of translators, which creates the illusion that who speaks in the text «translation» is the author and that who speaks in the text «Notes of the translator» is only the translator. In this analysis, I will consider translation as the realization of a possibility of saying offered by interdiscourse and by its connditions of production.

    No presente trabalho serão analisados trechos de traduções realizadas da obra latina, Satyricon, de Petrônio, especificamente em tres traduções vertidas para o português do Brasil. Ao refletir que a tradução, assim como o original, estão abertos ao interdiscurso e às possibilidades do dizer, produzindo diversos sentidos para um mesmo texto, retomarei a definição de «função tradutor», discutida pela estudiosa Solange Mittmann, que se baseia na ideia de que o tradutor busca criar a «ilusão» de que quem fala no texto da tradução é o autor do original, tentando mostrar urna «identificação total como original». Para a autora, há um distanciamento entre as duas vozes nas Notas de Tradutores, esse afastamento cria a ilusão de que quem fala no texto «tradução» é o autor e que quem fala no texto «Notas do tradutor» é somente o tradutor. Nesta análise considerarei a tradução como a realização de uma possibilidade de dizer oferecida pelo interdiscurso e por suas condições de produção.
