Esta investigación educativa buscó analizar la influencia de la motivaciónescolar en el rendimiento académico de educandos del gradonoveno del instituto San Francisco de Asís de Bucaramanga; abordandolo relacionado con: nivel de desempeño académico, tipo de motivación,función de la autorregulación del aprendizaje y otros factoresque influyen en la motivación y el rendimiento. En la metodología, elenfoque fue cualitativo, tipo descriptivo correlacional, los instrumentosutilizados fueron: análisis documental, entrevistas semiestructuradasy grupos focales. Las conclusiones encontradas arrojaron que: el nivelde desempeño académico que prevalece en los estudiantes es elbásico; la muestra seleccionada se encuentra motivada de manera extrínsecao sin motivación hacia la parte escolar; la mayoría de alumnos no autorregulan su aprendizaje; la familia y los docentes cumplen unrol fundamental en la motivación y el rendimiento académico de loseducandos; finalmente, el desempeño de los estudiantes se ve influenciadode manera notable por su motivación escolar; infiriendo que amayor motivación intrínseca, el rendimiento académico mejora en elestudiante, por lo que a medida que disminuye la motivación intrínsecay se convierte en motivación extrínseca, su rendimiento académicocomienza a decaer.
This educational research seeks to analyze the influence of schoolmotivation on the academic performance of students in the ninthgrade of the San Francisco de Asís de Bucaramanga Institute;dealing with: level of academic performance, type of motivation,role of self-regulation of learning and other factors that influencemotivation and performance are addressed. In the methodology,the approach was qualitative, correlational descriptive type, theinstruments used were: documentary analysis, semi-structuredinterviews and focus groups. The conclusions found showed that:the level of academic performance that prevails in students is basic;the selected sample is motivated in an extrinsic way or withoutmotivation towards the school part; most students do not selfregulatetheir learning; the family and teachers play a fundamentalrole in the motivation and academic performance of students; finally,the performance of the students is significantly influenced by theirschool motivation; inferring that the greater the intrinsic motivationthe academic performance improves in the student, so that as theintrinsic motivation decreases and becomes extrinsic motivation,their academic performance begins to decline
