La presente investigación concentra su atención en un problema transversal a las diferentes universidades, temporalmente es posible que el problema existiera ya desde los albores de estas instituciones, y en la actualidad persiste bajo las características contemporáneas. El punto es la movilidad académica, entendida esta como el desplazamiento geográfico de personas que en su calidad; ya sea de estudiantes o de docentes, se desplazan de un lugar a otro para fines estrictamente académicos, ya sea por el interés de aprender, de investigar o de compartir conocimientos.
De frente al mundo actual y realidades como la internacionalización, globalización y el desarrollo acelerado del avance de la tecnología y las comunicaciones, el problema se hace más evidente, las universidades ante el interés por su presencia internacional ponen un nuevo interés en la movilidad académica, este interés se centra en la intención de dinamizar esta actividad y por cuanto incentivarla.
Por el interés mencionado surge la preocupación respecto a cuales son las barreras que impiden el desplazamiento académico, siendo esta la pregunta de investigación. Para alcanzar la respuesta, el documento será dividido en cuatro partes: la 1era define el problema a investigar, plantea los objetivos tanto generales como específicos, delimita el estudio y en el marco de la contextualización plantea la hipótesis a ser contrastada. La 2da parte se refiere al Marco Contextual, en él se estudia el sector preciso en el que se aplicará el estudio de campo y se procederá a la recopilación de información primaria, en esta investigación en particular se referirá a las universidades católicas en su totalidad y alcance dentro de Bolivia. Se procede en la etapa a la Fundamentación Teórica que recopila la información pertinente desde el origen histórico de las universidades hasta su interpretación en el marco de la Globalización e internacionalización, para luego proceder con los criterios propios a la movilidad académica y el estado del arte en este punto en particular. Respaldados en la recopilación del estado del arte y en el marco contextual se procederá al Marco Metodológico. En esta parte se desarrolla el trabajo práctico de recopilación de información primaria, por cuanto se plantean objetivos propios y el manejo de la hipótesis a ser contrastada a partir de la información obtenida. Las técnicas de recopilación y procesamiento de datos implicaran un estudio cuali/cuantitativo, las herramientas en concreto serán grupos de enfoque, entrevistas y encuestas.
Los datos obtenidos dan paso a la última parte, los Resultados y su Interpretación, en esta etapa es donde se halla la riqueza y contribución del documento concluyendo con una relación de los factores que limitan la movilidad y su ponderación de frente al fenómeno de estudio. Lanzando al final nuevas interrogantes y abriendo paso para mayor investigación.

The research focus on a problem that affects different universities; it is possible that the problem may have existed since the rise of these institutions, persisting nowadays under the contemporary characteristics. The point is the academic mobility, understood as the geographic displacement of people that in their quality; whether they are students or teachers, travel from one place to another within strictly academic purposes, looking to fulfill their interest of learning, researching or sharing knowledge.
Facing the modern world and realities such as internationalization, globalization and its accelerated development, technology and communications advances; the problem becomes more evident: universities in their interest of achieving an international presence put a new interest in academic mobility, looking forward making this mobility a more dynamic activity and to encourage it.
Due to the mentioned interest, the concern about what the barriers that prevent academic displacement are arises, being this the research question. In order to reach the answer, the document is divided into four parts: the first one, defines the problem the investigation faces, presents both, the general and specific objectives, delimits the study and within the framework of contextualization poses the hypothesis to be contrasted. The second part refers to the Contextual Framework, where the precise space in which the field study will be applied is studied, and the recollection of primary information is developed, in this particular research the Catholic universities as a whole and their reach within Bolivia are the reference. Then, the research proceeds to a stage of Theoretical Foundation that compiles the pertinent information starting with the historical origin of the universities up to its interpretation within the framework of globalization and internationalization, for then proceed with the proper criteria of academic mobility and the state of the art of this point in particular.
With the compilation of the state of the art and in the contextual framework as a backup, the research will proceed to the Methodological Framework. In this part, the practical work of recollection of the primary information is developed, there for the own objectives are presented as well as the management of the hypothesis to be contrasted from the information obtained. The techniques of data recollection and processing, will involve a qualitative and quantitative study, the tools will be focus groups, interviews and surveys.
The data obtained will give way to the last part, the Results and their Interpretation, in this stage we find the wealth and contribution of the document concluding with a relation of the agents that limit the mobility and their weighting for the phenomenon of study. Launching new questions and opening the way for further research.
