    El objetivo del artículo es conocer el papel de la prensa como agente educativo durante el primer tercio del siglo XX, a través del suplemento de «Pedagogía e Instrucción pública», que publicaba semanalmente el periódico El Sol entre 1917 y 1921. Para conocer las ideas que se transmitían sobre educación hemos consultado y analizado los 141 ejemplares que están digitalizados en la Hemeroteca Nacional. En ellos se trataron todos los temas del momento, los problemas que la acuciaban y las posibles soluciones. De hecho, cualquier persona ajena al mundo educativo solo leyendo este suplemento podía estar al corriente de lo que ocurría en educación tanto en España como en el extranjero durante estos años.

    The objective of the article is to know the role of the press as an educational agent during the first third of the twentieth century, through the supplement of Pedagogy and Public Instruction published weekly by the newspaper El Sol between 1917 and 1921. To know the ideas that were transmitted about education we have consulted and analyzed the 141 copies of the Supplement that are digitized in the National Newspaper Library. They dealt with all the issues of the moment, the problems that plagued it and the possible solutions. In fact, anyone outside the educational world only reading this supplement could be aware of what was happening in education both in Spain and abroad during these years.
