Innovation is a fundamental element for teacher reflection and the improvement of teaching activity in all areas of teaching, including the university. However, teaching innovation projects are less frequent in universities, especially in studies that do not focus on didactics. For this reason, in this chapter we reflect on an ongoing teaching experience, the project “Normative language and meaningful teaching: between theory and practice”, which aims to coordinate the three Normative Language courses of the Catalan Language and Literature degree at the Universitat de les Illes Balears, as well as to improve the teaching task so that students can carry out more meaningful learning. The chapter, which is based on constructivism and reflective professionalism, explains how this project is being carried out (what it consists of, what measures have been carried out, etc.), what challenges it offers us (with special attention to formative assessment) and what results we hope to obtain.
