  • Resumen
    • The article explores the innovative union between the Montessori method and the STEAM approach (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), highlighting how this integration can revolutionize the education of the future. Starting from the fundamental principles of Maria Montessori, which emphasize the importance of a learning environment rich in stimuli and self-correcting materials, the article examines how STEAM disciplines can further enrich this educational context.

Schools adopting this approach offer children opportunities for practical and manipulative explorations that go beyond traditional learning, fostering the development of cognitive, creative, and social skills.

Personalized education emerges as a key element, allowing teaching to be adapted to the specific needs of each student. The article underscores the importance of authentic assessment and competencies, as highlighted by Castoldi (2016), and the crucial role of digital technologies in education, in line with the thinking of Rivoltella (2017). Through the integration of technologies, children develop essential digital and media skills for the 21st century.

Finally, the article highlights how cooperation and collaboration are fundamental in preparing children to become aware and responsible citizens, capable of tackling and solving complex problems.

Educational practices that incorporate hands-on experiences and real-world problems result in greater student engagement and better academic outcomes. The union between Montessori and STEAM thus represents one of the greatest hopes for the future of education and humanity, inviting us to rethink learning as a continuous and integrated discovery process.
