Art exists in society since the first civilizations. Among the many artistic expressions, music is one of the oldest and stands out for its subjective and abstract character. Over time, it became clear that the relationship between people and music became increasingly important and inevitable, to this, we point out the importance of understanding music's impact on human development and its impact on people's lives, seeing music as a psychological and cultural phenomenon. Therefore, we will explore the concept of Vygotsky’s, then, we will present music, and we will use as method a revision of literacy. The possible impact of the theme paves the way for the work in the continuing education of teachers. Under this perspective, we believe that music can change the physical state and mental of the human being, allowing him to get over your feelings and change your world.

A arte existe na sociedade desde as primeiras civilizações. Dentre as diversas expressões artísticas, a música é uma das mais antigas e se destaca por seu caráter subjetivo e abstrato. Com o passar do tempo, ficou claro que a relação entre as pessoas e a música se tornou cada vez mais importante e inevitável, e diante disso, ressaltamos a importância de compreender o impacto da música no desenvolvimento humano e seu impacto na vida do sujeito, visualizando a música como um fenômeno psicológico e cultural. Para tanto, exploraremos o conceito de arte de Vigotski sob a ótica da teoria histórico-cultural, então, apresentaremos a música, e utilizaremos como método uma revisão da literatura. O possível impacto sobre o tema abre caminho para o trabalho na formação continuada de professores. Nessa perspectiva, acreditamos que a música pode mudar o estado físico e mental do sujeito, possibilitando que ele supere seus sentimentos e mude seu mundo.
