La orientación vocacional y su influencia en la elección de carreras universitarias

    La investigación tiene por objetivo determinar la relación entre la orientación vocacional (OV) y la elección de carreras universitarias (ECU). De tipo descriptiva correlacional, la población de estudio estuvo conformada por 51 estudiantes de tercero de bachillerato. La correlación de Pearson entre OV y ECU evidencia una relación positiva baja, lo cual indica que la orientación vocacional ha influido en la elección de su carrera, sin embargo, se hace necesario profundizar el trabajo de OV en la muestra estudiada. Los adolescentes que cursan el último año de bachillerato se sienten más vulnerables con respecto a su vida futura y a su toma de decisiones, en muchas ocasiones terminan en deserción en los primeros años de la carrera, algunos de ellos tienen como meta terminar los estudios de colegio y continuar su formación con una carrera universitaria, cuando las condiciones, sociales, económicas y culturales se los permite.

    The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between vocational orientation (OV) and the choice of university careers (ECU). Of a descriptive correlational type, the study population consisted of 51 students in the third year of high school. The Pearson correlation between OV and ECU shows a low positive relationship, which indicates that vocational orientation has influenced their career choice; however, it is necessary to deepen the work of OV in the sample studied. Adolescents in the last year of high school feel more vulnerable with respect to their future life and decision making, in many occasions they end up in desertion in the first years of the career, some of them have as a goal to finish high school studies and continue their education with a university career, when the conditions, social, economic and cultural allow them to do so.
