    • A total of one hundred ninety-two crossbred pigs PIC-L65 x (Large White x Landrace) with an initial BW of 30.78 ± 4.06 kg (73 ± 2 days of age) were used to assess the substitution of soybean meal by pea (Pisum sativum) or pea with 10% narbon vetchs (Vicia narbonensis). There were six experimental treatments (48 total replicas and four pigs per replicate) with gilts and barrows, and three feedstuff (with the same energetic and proteine levels): 1) soybean meal 47; 2) pea; 3) pea with 10% narbon vetch. We evaluated the effect of anti-nutritional factors: protease inhibitors in pea and narbon vetch (trypsin –TIU- and chymotrypsin –CIU- inhibitors), and -glutamyl-S-ethenyl-cysteine in narbon vetch. For the entire experimental period (up to 122 kg BW) pigs which have consumed soybean meal and peas, obtained similar results of ADFI, ADG and FC (P>0.05), while 10% of narbon vetch inclusion, feedstuf 3, causes a lower ADFI and in therefore lower ADG with FC worse (P<0.05). The effect of sex follows the pattern of other tests with fattening pigs, with better overall FC in gilts (P <0.05) due to lower ADFI, and greater ADG in barrows. We conclude that peas with levels 10 TIU-CIU, can supply to soybean meal in pigs from 30 kg BW, on the contrary the inclusion of 10% narbon vetch, less palatable feed, hurting productivity performance.
