  • Resumen
    • Two feed strategies (ad libitum throughout pregnancy and restriction during the first 20 days), combined with oestrus synchronization with eCG or not in nulliparous rabbit does, were studied. Moreover, the effects of different diets (control and supplemented with PUFA n-3) and oestrus synchronization, by doe-litter separation or eCG injection, in multiparous lactating rabbit does were also evaluated. Nulliparous group were inseminated at 4.5 months of age, and multiparous group on day 11 post-partum. In both groups, fertility and prolificacy parameters were determined. Feed restriction did not affect fertility, but reduced the mortality in nulliparous females. The hormonal synchronization increased kits mortality in both experiments and covered up for the improvement of weight of newborns in multiparous does supplemented with PUFA.
