  • The effect of feeding with saturated and polyunsaturated fats (soybean oil and lard) present a significant statistical effect P<0.009 on weight gain in the group of sows consumed soybean oil, with no effect on weight change sows at weaning; in the study of the evolution of Backfat is seen an apparent trend P=0.1139 having a retail increase in this parameter during gestation on the soybean oil group was observed main mobilization of this tissue during lactation. According to Coma and Gaza (2007), current genetics has more ability to mobilize muscle and intramuscular reserve, this allows us to assume that the supplementation with polyunsaturated fats in the diet of pregnant sows increased body weight of multiparous sows, conversely feeding with saturated fats (lard) cause increaseddeposition during gestation backfat and this reduced mobilization during lactation.
