  • The paper analyzes a sample of 34 organic beef farms of the 61 existing in the province of Badajoz in the INIA (RTA2009-00122-C03-03) project. The aim is to determine which are the main structural and economic factors affecting these farms. Four factors were found (subsidies dependence, intensification, animal feed and productivity) that explained 78.79% of variance. Of all the analyzed farms those devoted exclusively to the production of organic beef cattle had the lower level of intensification and dependence on subsidies.
