Influencia de un curso spoc en la percepción del alumnado universitario sobre moodle

    La inclusión de las tecnologías de la información y comunicación (TIC) en la enseñanza ha dado lugar a una serie de transformaciones en las instituciones, que van desde cambios en la infraestructura y equipamiento hasta la implementación de programas de capacitación para profesores. Sin embargo, el estudiante requiere también de espacios de formación que le permitan valorar e integrar las tecnologías a su aprendizaje. Como respuesta a esta necesidad, la Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (México) diseñó e implementó un curso SPOC acerca del sistema de gestión del aprendizaje Moodle dirigido a estudiantes de nuevo ingreso con la finalidad de capacitarlos en el uso de la herramienta, reconocer la importancia en su formación y mejorar su percepción respecto a ella. Para evaluar la influencia del curso en los participantes se realizó la presente indagación, cuyo objetivo fue conocer si las percepciones de los estudiantes cambiaron después de concluirlo. Se hallaron aspectos en donde la percepción no fue modificada, aunque también se reportaron cambios positivos, ya que reconocieron que el sistema Moodle complementa su aprendizaje y les agrada utilizarla en sus dispositivos; además, resaltaron la importancia y la utilidad de lo aprendido. Como conclusión se plantea que, ante el nuevo escenario educativo provocado por la pandemia de la covid-19, el curso SPOC debe continuar ofreciéndose a todos los alumnos de nuevo ingreso de esta institución educativa.

    The inclusion of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in teaching has brought a series of changes in institutions. These go from infrastructure and equipment, to the implementation of training programs for teachers. However, as the teacher, the student requires training spaces that permit him to value and integrate the technologies in his learning. As a response to this need, the Autonomous University of Yucatán (México), designed and implemented a SPOC course about a learning management system based on MOODLE for incoming freshmen to the university in order to train them in the use of this technological tool, recognizing the importance in their formation and improving their perception related to this tool. To evaluate the SPOC course’s influence in the participants, a research that aims to recognize if the students’ perceptions changed after finishing the SPOC course was carried out. Among the results, there were aspects in which the perception did not improve and, on the other hand, positive changes were identified in these students’ perceptions, recognizing the MOODLE system as a complement in their learning and enjoying the use of this system in their devices. Besides, they highlighted the importance and usefulness of what they learnt. As one of the main conclusions, in view of the new educational scenario caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is recommended that the SPOC course should be implemented at all the three educational levels for incoming freshmen in this educational institution.
