García Lorca nunca estuvo a México. Existen, sin embargo, referencias donde expresa el inminente deseo de visitarlo atraído por el ambiente de los estrenos de sus obras. El encuentro del granadino con el escultor Alberto Sánchez a principios de 1920 urdió un universo de relaciones artísticas que se extenderá a lo largo del tiempo, fraguando en distintos proyectos escenográficos. El exilio de Alberto a Moscú supuso el reencuentro con el poeta andaluz. Observaremos las afinidades estéticas entre ambos artistas como un ejemplo de reparación patrimonial y un ejercicio de memoria histórica.
García Lorca was never in México. There are, however, references where he expresses the imminent desire to visit him attracted by the atmosphere of the premieres of his works. The encounter of the granadino with the sculptor Alberto Sánchez at the beginning of 1920 created a universe of artistic relations that will extend throughout the time, forging in different scenographic projects. The exile of Alberto to Moscow supposed the reunion with the Andalusian poet.
