  • Resumen
    • The development of the Internet and world wide web (WWW) has increasingly encouraged interdisciplinary research. This research is no exception. Bringing together knowledge from education, artificial intelligence and psychology in order to address a specific eLearning problem. With current research being focused on developing ePortfolios as ability representation, other aspects of user representation are all but unnoticed. Having examined the problems encountered with user representation within other areas, the authors believe that a new perspective is needed for effective eLearning. With well developed psychological theories of personality and multi-agent systems, this paper aims to put forward a new way of representing learners within an eLearning environment by representing personality traits, within multi-agent systems, to provide the cognitive processing power. The role of personality traits for personalised learning have been analysed, a novel approach to the representation of learners presented and a conceptual model defined and presented with implementation techniques.
