In this article, the author presents a historical interpretation that connects the classical Paideia with the Germanic Bildung. The different stage of neo-humanistic Bildung are described starting in the 18th century, and some attempts of renewal that took place in the 20th century are depicted. Finally, the author offers a perspective of the hermeneutic pedagogy that assumes the inheritance of a Bildung historically linked to the tradition of spirit sciences.

En aquest article es presenta una interpretació històrica que connecta la Paideia clàssica amb la 'Bildung' germànica. Es perfilen les diferents etapes de la 'Bildung' neohumanista des del segle XVIII i es detallen els intents de renovació que ha experimentat en el segle XX. Finalment, s'ofereix una perspectiva de la pedagogia hermenèutica que assumeix l'herència d'una 'Bildung' vinculada històricament a la tradició de les ciències de l'esperit.
