Relación entre el aporte fiscal directo, la calidad del cuerpo docente y la producción científica de las instituciones pertenecientes al Consejo de Rectores de las universidades chilenas

    La búsqueda del conocimiento como uno de los principales focos que tienen las universidades se encuentra estrechamente relacionada con la calidad docente. Materializar este concepto implica establecer una relación entre la producción científica en Chile, la calidad docente y el Aporte Fiscal Directo (AFD) que es destinado a las universidades pertenecientes al CRUCH, éste es el objetivo de esta investigación. Para el análisis, primero se busca determinar si existe correlación entre las variables de estudio. Posteriormente, se obtiene el índice de correlación simple entre las mismas. Los resultados muestran una correlación muy alta entre cada una de las variables. Además, se realiza este mismo procedimiento segmentando a las universidades según su ubicación, en la Región Metropolitana o en regiones y si son estatales o no, obteniendo resultados similares. De forma complementaria, se realiza un análisis con la técnica de regresión lineal simple en donde se obtiene que sólo un pequeño porcentaje de las publicaciones científicas provenientes de las instituciones pertenecientes el CRUCH estarían siendo publicadas por otro tipo de investigadores.

    The pursuit of knowledge as one of the main focuses of universities is closely related to quality. To materialize this concept in establishing the relationship of scienti­fic production in Chile, quality of faculty and Direct Fiscal Funding (AFD) destinated to universities belonging to the CRUCH, is the aim of this research. For analysis, a scatter plot is created to intuitively determine if there is a correlation between the study variables. Subsequently, the rate of simple correlation is obtained between the same variables, which results in a very high correlation between each one of the variables. In addition, this same procedure is performed after segmenting universities by location, in the metropolitan area or other regions, and by being state-owned or not, obtaining similar results. To complement this, an analysis with simple linear regression technique is performed, with the results of only a small percentage of scienti­fic publications from the universities of CRUCH, being published by other types of investigators.
