  A través del siguiente artículo repasaremos algunos debates que la fotografía ha suscitado en los últimos años en ocasiones relacionados con la digitalización y la posible manipulación gracias a un software cada vez más accesible, pero también la posibilidad de una información gráfica inmediata gracias a los smartphones, posibles sustitutos de la cámara fotográfica; y cómo no el papel del fotoperiodista ciudadano. Además, se verá el mecanismo por el cual una foto llega a convertirse en un icono aceptado por consenso social.

  Through the following paper we will review some issues that photography has rised in recent years and they are related to digitization and the possible manipulation through an increasingly accessible software, but also we will review the possibility of immediate graphical information thanks to the smartphones, possible substitutes of camera;
  
  and of course the role of the citizen photojournalist.
  
  In addition, the paper will take a look into the mechanism by which a picture become an icon by social acceptance
