  • TBA test has been applied to different vegetable oils using the single extraction procedure. The oils have been stored in closed poliethylene containers for three months, in the dark, at 25ºC. The refined sunflower and cottonseed oils gave TBA values lower than crude oils. An outstanding difference is observed between the rancidity of virgen extra and virgen fino olive oils.
