The various events that have occurred in recent years, such as COVID-19, and the different war conflicts, have undoubtedly altered the economic growth forecasts set for 2030, and specifically working conditions.
In this context, it is worth asking ourselves, to what extent are the different countries developing policies that facilitate the development of urgent and effective regulations that help companies, not only to maintain jobs, but to be able to create new ones? And more specifically, in the organizational context, what strategies are expected to be implemented in relation to SDG 8 of decent work? And those responsible for human resources, how do they conceive that their knowledge, skills, and values must be aligned to become promoters? of quality work and improvements in the working conditions of all people, since the protagonists of this objective are people, and they deserve to be able to access a job with which they can live and grow professionally and personally. Goals. Analyse, from the perspective of those responsible for human resources, the challenges posed for Goal 8, Decent work, and economic growth, identifying the aspects that companies are considering, as well as the knowledge, skills and values that must be considered in the training of these.
Method. Interviews with 8 human resources managers from various companies, as well as organizational consultants.
Results. The EuroPsy model of competencies for the human resources professional is verified as a fundamental and key guide for the promotion and evaluation of Objective 8. Discussion. Although the rates of economic growth so far have been demoralizing, investigations such as this are intended to reflect on the main challenges facing us in the future of work.
