    This study aims to provide an alternative origin for the notion of social function of property – traditionally related to the Brazilian Constitution of 1934 and its informative sources (Social Doctrine of the Church, Weimar Constitution and Mexican Constitution) – by the analysis of Sesmarias Law (1375).
