Die Kongressakten des XIth International Congress of the »European Committee for Sports History« (CESH) geben einen Überblick über die aktuellen Forschungsinteressen im Feld der Sportgeschichte und Sportsoziologie. Neben den bedeutendsten WissenschaftlerInnen in diesem Bereich gibt eine Vielzahl von Beiträgen zu soziologischen, ethnologischen, archäologischen, religiösen, politischen und künstlerischen Themen Aufschluss über den engen Zusammenhang von Sport und Kultur.
