Análise fenomenológica interpretativa (AFI): Enlaces com a psicologia cognitiva

    This article aims to provide further elucidation on the role of Cognitive Psychology within a phenomenological approach, in this case Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (AFI), as well as the possibility of using this tool in studies in this field of Psychology. It also brings an explanatory script of the practical aspects for carrying out projects using this methodology. The AFI was developed within Psychology and is characterized by addressing important everyday existential issues.  Focus on the participant, but the interpretive emphasis in the construction of meanings falls on both the participant and the researcher, who uses cognitive processes such as thought, language, behavior and creativity in their elucidation. Other important characteristics of this approach are the systematicity and rigor of its procedures, and its openness to dialogue with other approaches. It is in full expansion, especially in Europe, but growing in popularity around the world, being increasingly used by researchers not only in Psychology, but also in other fields of empirical sciences due to the characteristics presented. It is argued towards a for a fruitful and promising dialogue between the two paradigms - Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis and Cognitive Psychology, overcoming the epistemological obstacles that are still in force, for a deeper understanding of the cognitive phenomenon.

    Este trabalho visa trazer um maior esclarecimento acerca do papel da Psicologia Cognitiva dentro de uma abordagem fenomenológica, no caso a Análise Fenomenológica Interpretativa (AFI), bem como a possibilidade de uso dessa ferramenta em estudos desse campo da Psicologia. Traz ainda um roteiro explicativo dos aspectos práticos para a condução de projetos com o uso dessa metodologia. A AFI nasceu no seio da Psicologia e caracteriza-se por abordar questões existenciais cotidianas importantes. Apresenta foco no participante, mas a ênfase interpretativa na construção dos significados recai tanto sobre este quanto no pesquisador, o qual lança mão de processos cognitivos como pensamento, linguagem, comportamento e criatividade em suas elucidações. Outras características importantes dessa abordagem são a sistematicidade e rigor de seus procedimentos, e sua abertura em dialogar com outras abordagens. Encontra-se em plena expansão, sobretudo na Europa, mas crescendo em popularidade no mundo, sendo cada vez mais usada por pesquisadores não só de Psicologia, como de outros campos das ciências empíricas devido as características apresentadas. Argumenta-se na direção de um diálogo fecundo e promissor entre os dois paradigmas - Análise Fenomenológica Interpretativa e Psicologia Cognitiva, superados os obstáculos epistemológicos ainda vigentes, para aprofundamento de compreensão do fenômeno cognitivo.
