    This article adopted blockchain, bitcoin technology and its regulatory challenges as its theme. The main objective of this study was to descriptively analyze blockchain technology, evaluating its likely regulatory challenges, as it is a relatively new technology and is still in the development phase, which means that many legal and regulatory issues have not yet been completely resolved. Situations related to user privacy and security are fundamental concerns, as are the prevention of money laundering and the mass adoption of technology. Thus, this research aimed to describe the technological foundations of blockchain, clarifying how its use can occur more effectively and discuss how the legal aspects inherent to this technology can be registered in a full and secure way, taking advantage, therefore, of the inherent economic potential. To this end, a bibliographical research was carried out, using a qualitative approach, which clarified the concepts, definitions and premises essential to the preciseunderstanding of the investigated object. The use of blockchain has the potential to revolutionize the way transactions are made and can bring significant benefits to society. The results showed the promising aspect of the technology's applicability, because blockchain is a distributed recording technology that allows information to be recorded in a secure and transparent way.

    O presente artigo, adotou como tema blockchain, a tecnologia dos bitcoins e seus desafios regulatórios. O principal objetivo deste estudo foi analisar descritivamente a tecnologia blockchain, avaliando seus prováveis desafios regulatórios, por ser uma tecnologia relativamente nova e ainda estar em fase de desenvolvimento, o que significa que muitas questões legais e regulatórias ainda não foram completamente solucionadas. Situações relacionada à privacidade e à segurança dos usuários são preocupações fundamentais, assim como a prevenção da lavagem de dinheiro e a adoção em massa da tecnologia. Desse modo, esta pesquisa objetivou em descrever os fundamentos tecnológicos da blockchain, esclarecendo como seu uso pode ocorrer com maior eficácia e discutir como os aspectos legais inerentes à essa tecnologia podem registrar-se de forma plena e segura, aproveitando-se, portanto, do potencial econômico que lhe é inerente. Para tanto, realizou-se uma pesquisa bibliográfica, utilizando abordagem qualitativa, a qual esclareceu os conceitos, as definições e as premissas essenciais ao entendimento preciso do objeto investigado. A utilização da blockchain tem o potencial de revolucionar a forma como as transações são feitas e pode trazer benefícios significativos para a sociedade. Os resultados mostraram o aspecto promissor de aplicabilidade da tecnologia, isso porquea blockchain é uma tecnologia de registro distribuído que permite que informações sejam registradas de forma segura e transparente.
