This article explores Tourism Intelligence graduate students’ understanding of sustainability in the tourism sector. The research was conducted with students enrolled in the Master’s Degree in Tourism Intelligence at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Spain. The students participated in a focus group activity, where they identified both sustainable and unsustainable actions across different tourism contexts, including accommodation, food, and transport. The results demonstrated a strong understanding of sustainability, with a focus on water and energy conservation, recycling and reusing materials, the use of renewable energy, and the reduction of food waste. While the students recognized the importance of sustainability in tourism, the findings suggest that their understanding remains largely confined to technical and functional aspects. A broader perspective that includes social and economic dimensions is still needed. The study concludes that interdisciplinarity and dialogue between different fields of knowledge can contribute to a more holistic view of sustainability in tourism. [correcciones gramaticales.
