    Before 2011, the debate whether the author of the Curial would have resided in Naples before coming back and writing the work in an Iberian literary context, or whether it was documented, written and recited in Italy was still open. Nevertheless, the identification by M. T. Ferrer i Mallol of the protagonist of the story with “Gabrielet” Curiale, the favourite page of Alfonso the Magnanimous at the court of Naples (an identification that is now consolidated here with new documentation from the chancery registries) and the document’s link between Curiale and Enyego d’Àvalos, to whom the authorship of the novel is attributed, contribute to corroborate the courtly and Neapolitan context of the book.

    Abans del 2011, romania obert el debat sobre si l’autor del Curial hauria residit a Nàpols abans de tornar-se’n i escriure l’obra en àmbit ibèric, o si l’hauria documentada, escrita i recitada a Itàlia. Tanmateix, la identificació per M. T. Ferrer i Mallol del protagonista del relat amb “Gabrielet” Curiale, el patge predilecte d’Alfons el.Magnànim a la cort de Nàpols (identificació que consolidem ací amb nova documentació de cancelleria) i la vinculació documental de Curiale amb Enyego d’Àvalos, a qui s’atribueix l’autoria de la novel·la, contribueixen a corroborar el context cortesà i napolità de l’obra.
