    El objeto de este estudio es los fundadores y primeras maestras de la primera escuela infantil de la ciudad de Braganza, en Portugal, en 1915. Los objetivos son: 1) averiguar cuáles fueron los motivos de estos fundadores para crear una escuela infantil; 2) cuál fue la motivación de los maestros de primaria para trabajar con niños de edades para las que no habían sido formados. El paradigma de investigación que sustenta el estudio se basa en una perspectiva hermenéutica, utilizando metodologías de análisis cualitativo en la interpretación multidimensional de los problemas abordados y una búsqueda heurística de documentos.

    The object of this study is the founders and first teachers of the first Infant school in the city of Braganza, Portugal, in 1915. The objectives are: 1) to find out what were the motives of these founders to create a nursery school; 2) what was the motivation of the primary school teachers to work with children of ages for which they had not been trained. The research paradigm underpinning the study is based on a hermeneutic perspective, using qualitative analysis methodologies in the multidimensional interpretation of the problems addressed and a heuristic search of documents.
