    En el siglo XVII, la oratoria sagrada y su puesta por escrito en el sermón no solo es un instrumento fundamental para la evangelización, sino que se constituye en parte integral de la cultura literaria, su contexto social y en testimonio del estado de una lengua. Mediante el comentario lingüístico de cuatro sermones impresos en Manila entre 1628 y 1699, este artículo ofrece un acercamiento al español, en su registro culto, en un periodo de transición entre la lengua medieval y la moderna, cuyas adaptaciones a las realidades del archipiélago filipino incorporan relaciones consustanciales de tipo diafásico, diastrático y diatópico

    In the 17th century, sacred oratory and its written form in sermons is not only a fundamental instrument for evangelization, but also constitutes an integral part of literary culture, its social context, and a testimony to the state of a language. Through the linguistic commentary on four sermons printed in Manila between 1628 and 1699, this article offers an approach to Spanish, in its cultivated register, during a period of transition from medieval to modern language, whose adaptations to the realities of the Philippine archipelago incorporate consubstantial relationships of diaphasic, diastratic, and diatopic nature
