Cuando termina la posibilidad de un tratamiento curativo debe estar disponible sea para un tratamiento paliativo, sintomático o bien acompañarlo hasta su muerte. Se analiza el concepto de persona, paciente terminal, sufrimiento y la actitud tanto del paciente como del médico frente a la etapa final de la vida.
