Interdentalismo en el fonema /d̪/ en el español chileno estándar: un análisis exploratorio en tres ciudades del país

    Esta investigación da cuenta de la presencia de realizaciones interdentales como variantes alofónicas del fonema /d̪/ en hablantes de nivel sociocultural medio alto, provenientes de 3 ciudades de Chile: Iquique, Santiago y Punta Arenas. La muestra de habla consideró la elicitación de lectura en voz alta de treinta hablantes, 15 hombres y 15 mujeres, quienes produjeron un total de 480 realizaciones del fonema /d̪/. Dado que de forma perceptiva no fue posible determinar el punto de articulación de las realizaciones de /d̪/, se optó por hacer un análisis visual de cada producción fonética. Los resultados obtenidos indican que existe un 28% de realizaciones interdentales en los hablantes observados. Con respecto a la producción del sonido interdental, la variable mostró diferencias estadísticamente significativas a favor de las mujeres en comparación con los hombres; en el caso de la procedencia geográfica de los hablantes, no hubo diferencias estadísticamente significativas. También es posible constatar una importante influencia del contexto fonético en las realizaciones interdentales.

    This research reports the presence of interdental realizations as allophonic variants of the phoneme /d̪/ in speakers of upper-middle socio-cultural level, from 3 cities in Chile: Iquique, Santiago and Punta Arenas. The speech sample considered the read-aloud elicitation of thirty speakers, 15 males and 15 females, who produced a total of 480 realizations of the phoneme /d̪/. Since perceptually it was not possible to determine the point of articulation of the realizations of /d̪/, a visual analysis of each phonetic production was chosen. The results obtained indicate that there are 28% of interdental realizations in the observed speakers. With respect to the production of the interdental sound, the variable showed statistically significant differences in favor of females compared to males; in the case of the geographic origin of the speakers, there were no statistically significant differences. It is also possible to note an important influence of the phonetic context on interdental realizations.
