    En este artículo se ofrece la evolución de los diversos planteamientos que, sobre el desarrollo cognitivo de los sordos, ha ofrecido la psicología. Tras distinguir cuatro etapas en la investigación sobre la inteligencia de los sordos, se expone una revisión de los estudios más significativos. El artículo concluye señalando las limitaciones explicativas del enfoque psicométrico frente a las perspectivas centradas en atribuir las dificultades cognitivas de los sordos a déficits experienciales y comunicativos.

    In this article is offered the evolution of the various positions that, on the development cognitive of deaf, it has offered the psychology. After distinguishing four stages in the investigation on the intelligence of the deaf, is exposed a review of the most meaningful studies. The article concludes indicating the explanatory limitations of the approach psychrometric as compared to the perspectives centered in attibuting the difficulties cognitives as of the deaf to deficits of the experience and communicative.
