Las relaciones sociales y el rechazo hacia el alumnado con discapacidad auditiva

    El estudio de las relaciones y actitudes de los compañeros/as y agentes de intervención en el ámbito educativo hacia las personas con discapacidad auditiva es de gran relevancia a nivel mundial, las cuales ponen de manifiesto la necesaria concienciación y el cambio hacia actitudes positivas para la calidad de vida de las personas. Por ello, el objetivo principal fue analizar la capacidad predictiva de las variables: satisfacción con la cantidad y el tipo de relación con el compañero/a con discapacidad auditiva, y el grado de intención e interés por establecer relaciones, sentarse cerca de él/ella, en el juego, y/o en clase sobre el factor “Rechazo de las personas con discapacidad auditiva”. Los participantes fueron 823 alumnos/as, de entre 13 y 16 años. El análisis se realizó con la técnica de regresión logística, siguiendo el procedimiento de pasos hacia delante basado en el estadístico de Wald, mediante el SPSS 24 y MedCalc 12. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron la “Escala específica de Actitudes hacia las Personas con Discapacidad Auditiva” y la “Escala para evaluar la relación con los compañeros que tienen discapacidad auditiva”. Como resultados y conclusiones del estudio se obtuvo que, por cada punto de aumento en las variables analizadas, la probabilidad de obtener alta puntuación en el rechazo de las personas con discapacidad auditiva disminuye.

    The study of the relationships and attitudes of peers and intervention agents in the educational field towards people with hearing disabilities is of great relevance worldwide, which highlights the need to raise awareness and change towards positive attitudes for people’s quality of life. Therefore, the main objective was to analyze the predictive capacity of the variables: satisfaction with the amount and type of relationship with the hearing-impaired classmate, and the degree of intention and interest in establishing relationships, sitting close to him/her, in the game, and/or in class on the factor “Rejection of people with hearing impairment”. The participants were 823 students, between 13 and 16 years old. The analysis was performed using the logistic regression technique, following the step-forward procedure based on the Wald statistic, using the SPSS 24 and MedCalc 12 statistical packages. The instruments used in the study were the “The Specific Scale of Attitudes towards Persons with Hearing Impairment” and the “Scale to Assess the Relationship with Peers with Hearing Impairment”. As a result, and conclusions of the study, it was obtained that, for each point of increase in the variables analyzed, the probability of obtaining a high score in the rejection of people with hearing impairment decreases.
