This study focuses on the effects on demand deriving from the expenditure generated by the lifelong learning programmes offered by the University of Barcelona and their multiplier effect on the economy. Results reported a multiplicative effect between 3.06 and 6.26 euros into Barcelona’s provincial economyand the creation of between 401 and 899 indirect full-time jobs.Beyond these results, lifelong learning programmes generatebenefitsconsiderably larger than the figures estimated in this study, including social, educational or cultural benefits.
