    La Casa Yamamura, proyectada por el arquitecto en 1918 para un solar ubicado en Ashiya (Hyogo), se aleja en su diseño del resto de su obra japonesa para acercarse a las características de su etapa californiana. Su singularidad se reflejó en su declaración como Bien de Interés Cultural en 1974, como primer edificio de la era Taisho (1912-1926) que recibía tal distinción. A principios de los años ochenta, la casa, en estado de desidia, fue objeto de estudio y restauración. Posteriormente, el terremoto de Kobe de 1995 afectó seriamente al edificio, de manera que se debió emprender una nueva restauración que constituye el contenido principal de este artículo.

    Restoration of Frank Lloyd Wright's Yamamura House. Yamamura house, designed by the architect in 1918 for a site located in 1918 for a site located in Ashiya (Hyogo), is rather different in design from the rest of his work in Japan and closer to the characteristics of his work in California. Its singularity was reflected in its being appointted an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1974, the first building of the Taisho era (1912-1926) to receive this distinction. In the early eighties, the house, wich was in a state of neglect, was subjected to study and restoration. Later the Kobe earthquake seriously damaged the building in 1995, so new restoration works had to be carried out, and these are the subject matter of this article.
