Uso de Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación en tiempos de COVID-19

    Las tecnologías de información y comunicación constituyen herramientas útiles en salud que permiten el acceso a información actualizada sobre la misma, y también permite a los docentes repensar sus prácticas e integrarlas en la formación de estudiantes críticos, creativos y responsables. El objetivo general de este estudio fue analizar la percepción de docentes y estudiantes acerca de implementación de las tecnologías de información y comunicación en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje en la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad Nacional de Asunción en tiempos de pandemia de COVID-19. El diseño del estudio fue no experimental cuantitativo, observacional, descriptivo correlacional de corte transversal. Fueron incluidos 195 estudiantes y 101 docentes de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad Nacional de Asunción a los cuales se les aplicó un cuestionario que incluía preguntas sobre características sociodemográficas y académicas, infraestructura tecnológica, capacitación y competencias digitales y a los estudiantes se les preguntó su opinión sobre la infraestructura tecnológica y el desempeño docente, y sobre su experiencia de aprendizaje en el aula virtual. Respecto a los resultados, el 73,8 % de los estudiantes y el 76,2 % de los docentes, tuvieron una percepción positiva acerca de la implementación de las Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación. La mayoría de los estudiantes tuvo una opinión positiva acerca del aprendizaje en la modalidad virtual. Si bien en general se observaron altos porcentajes de respuestas favorables, se debe fortalecer la implementación de las Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación mediante capacitaciones y orientaciones tanto a docentes como a estudiantes.

    Information and communication technologies are useful tools in health that allow access to updated information about it, and also allow teachers to rethink their practices and integrate them into the training of critical, creative and responsible students.The general objective of this study was to analyze the perception of teachers and students about the implementation of information and communication technologies in the teaching-learning process at the Faculty of Dentistry of the National University of Asunción in times of the COVID-19 pandemic. The study design was non-experimental, quantitative, observational, descriptive, correlational, cross-sectional. A total of 195 students and 101 teachers from the Faculty of Dentistry of the National University ofAsunción were included, to whom a questionnaire was applied that included questions about sociodemographic and academic characteristics, technological infrastructure, training, and digital skills, and the students were asked their opinion about technological infrastructure and teacher performance, and about their learning experience in the virtual classroom. Regarding the results, 73.8% of the students and 76.2% of the teachers had a positive perception about the implementation of Information and Communication Technologies. Most of the students had a positive opinion about learning in the virtual modality. Although in general high percentages of favorable responses were observed, the implementation of Information and Communication Technologies should be strengthened through training and guidance for both teachers and students.Keywords: Information and communication technologies, dentistry, COVID-19, university studies, teaching, learning
