    Es objetivo de este trabajo mostrar la utilidad de la Matemática para resolver, interpretar y modelar problemas asociados a la COVID-19; mostrar las lagunas en la preparación matemática de los profesionales de esta disciplina para enfrentar estos retos. Esto se logra a partir del uso de métodos como el análisis-síntesis y la modelación. Quedando por resolver, la necesidad del profesional de la Matemática para insertarse en la solución y/o interpretación de problemas que surgen en la medicina, y la urgencia creciente de soluciones matemáticas para resolver, modelar e interpretar problemas no matemáticos.

    The objective of this work is to show the usefulness of Mathematics to solve, interpret and model problems associated with COVID-19; show the gaps in the mathematical preparation of professionals in this discipline to face these challenges. This is achieve with the use of methods such as analysis-synthesis and modeling. Remaining to be solve, the need of the Mathematics professional to be insert in the solution and / or interpretation of problems that arise in medicine, and the growing urgency of mathematical solutions to solve, model and interpret non-mathematical problems.
