    La competencia sociocultural constituye una de las exigencias del modelo del profesional de la Carrera Lenguas Extranjeras. El objetivo de este artículo es caracterizar esta competencia en la disciplina Práctica Integral de la Lengua Inglesa en la Universidad de Las Tunas. Para ello, se emplearon métodos de investigación entre los que se destacan el histórico-lógico y análisis-síntesis. En el trabajo se avizora la necesidad de articular los contenidos de las dimensiones comunicativa y pedagógico profesional para favorecer el carácter integrador del proceso de formación inicial. También dio la oportunidad de establecer las posibles vías para lograr la integración referida.

    Sociocultural competence is one of the requirements of the professional model of the Foreign Language Major. The objective of this article is to characterize this competence in the Integrated English Practice discipline in the University of Las Tunas. For this purpose, research methods were used, among which the historical-logical and the analysis-synthesis methods stand out. In the work, the need to articulate the contents of the communicative and pedagogical-professional to favor the integrating character of the initial training process is foreseen. It also gave the opportunity to establish possible ways to achieve the referred integration.
