    En las últimas décadas surgió, en Argentina, un subgénero del terror que elijo denominar terror verde, que ancla sus antecedentes en el eco-horror pero que, a diferencia de este —que monstrifica al animal otorgándole gran tamaño, astucia o velocidad de reproducción— el terror verde argentino lo mantiene en un lugar de víctima equiparándolo con el ser humano. En el terror verde el otro terrorífico es un semejante. El horror se expresa en las consecuencias del accionar humano sobre el medio que habita. En este subgénero se pueden observar dos corrientes diferentes entre sí, pero, a la vez, íntimamente ligadas. Aquella de corte anti-especista, con el acento puesto sobre la cuestión animal, y la de tipo ambientalista, en donde las historias giran en torno al cambio climático, el animal suele ser uno de los grandes ausentes y el ser humano lucha por sobrevivir en una tierra devastada.

    In recent decades, a sub-genre of terror has emerged in Argentina that I choose to call green terror, which has its roots in eco-horror but, unlike the latter, which monstrosifies the animal by giving it great size, cunning or speed of reproduction, the Argentinean green terror keeps it in the position of a victim, equating it with the human being. In the green terror, the terrifying other is a fellow human being. Horror is expressed in the consequences of human action on the environment it inhabits. In this subgenre, two currents can be observed that are different from each other but, at the same time, intimately linked. The anti-speciesist one, with the emphasis on the animal issue, and the environmentalist one, where the stories revolve around climate change, where the animal is usually one of the big absentees and the human being struggles to survive on a devastated earth.

    Nas últimas décadas, surgiu na Argentina um subgênero de terror que escolhi chamar de terror verde, que tem suas raízes no eco-horror, mas, ao contrário deste último, que monstruosiza o animal dando-lhe grande tamanho, astúcia ou velocidade de reprodução, o terror verde argentino o mantém na posição de vítima, equiparando-o ao ser humano. No terror verde, o outro aterrorizante é um ser humano semelhante. O horror é expresso nas consequências da ação humana sobre o ambiente que habita. Nesse subgênero, podem ser observadas duas correntes diferentes entre si, mas, ao mesmo tempo, intimamente ligadas. A antiespecista, com ênfase na questão animal, e a ambientalista, em que as histórias giram em torno das mudanças climáticas, em que o animal é geralmente um dos grandes ausentes e o ser humano luta para sobreviver em uma terra devastada.
