  Actualmente, el HPV (human papillomavirus) está siendo combatido gracias a la presencia de dos vacunas: la tretravalente (serotipos 6, 11, 16, 18) y la nonavalente (serotips 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, 58). Mientras que la primera está disponible para ambos sexos, la nonavalente solamente se administra en mujeres dado que sigue en fases de estudio. Recientemente, se está haciendo hincapié en la vacunación del hombre por la alta prevalencia de enfermedades asociadas, así como por la prevención de la transmisión. Además, se han llevado a cabo diversos estudios que han demostrado la eficacia de ambos tipos de vacuna, tanto en el hombre como en inmunodeprimidos. La rentabilidad de la vacuna tretravalente está demostrada mientras que la de la nonavalente sería definitiva si su precio de mercado fuese como máximo 13$ superior a la tretravalente. Finalmente, el factor educacional, entre otros factores, limita la aplicación y la eficacia de la vacuna.

  Nowadays, HPV (human papillomavirus) is being fought thanks to the presence of two vaccines: the 4- valent (serotypes 6, 11, 16, 18) and the 9- valent (serotypes 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, 58). Whereas the first one is available for both sexes, the 9-valent is only administrated to women given that is still in the study. Recently, men vaccination has been pointed oud due to the high prevalence of associated diseases, as well as the prevention of its trasmission. Furthermore, several studies have been carried out and have demonstrated the efficacy of both vaccines, both in men and in immunocomprised. The 4-valent cost-effectiveness vaccine is verified while the 9-valent cost-effectiveness would be definitive if its market price were at most 13$ superior to that of the 4-valent. Finally, the educational factor, among others, limits the applicationa and the efficacy of the vaccines.
