    • This paper is dedicated to the study and the graphic reconstruction of the project of the church of La Maddalena of the Cassinesi in Messina, the work of Carlo Marchionni, architect of the eighteenth century. Based on the few historical photographs before the earthquake, the study proposes a philological reconstruction of the facade. The church, begun in 1765 and finished in 1834, suffered serious damage during the earthquake of 1908, which caused the collapse of the bell towers. This work includes a comparative analysis with other works by Marchionni and hypothesizes possible influences on the Sicilian architectural landscape of the time. Through a methodical approach, the studio aims to reconstruct not only the lost image of the facade of the church but also the historical and cultural context of the lost work, providing new possible suggestions on Marchionni’s heritage in 18th century architecture. On the occasion of this study was analyzed a drawing of the architect preserved in Jesi attributable to the study for an internal altar of the Maddalena.
