    El objetivo del presente artículo es realizar un breve repaso por la historia del Puerto de Sevilla, alumbrando datos sobre un protagonista clave de la capital de Andalucía que, sin embargo, aún permanece sin estudiar en profundidad. Las fuentes empleadas han sido algunas primarias depositadas en el Archivo de la Autoridad Portuaria, además de bibliografía especializada del tema. En cuanto a las limitaciones que esta pequeña investigación se ha encontrado está, sin duda, la falta de obras relativas a la actividad portuaria en el Guadalquivir, por lo tanto, creemos que nuestra aportación es original en el sentido de que sirve de preludio a una mayor investigación.

    The objective of this article is to carry out a brief review of the history of the Port of Seville, illuminating data on a key protagonist of the capital of Andalusia that, however, still remains to be studied in depth. The sources used have been some primary ones deposited in the Archive of the Port Authority, as well as specialized bibliography on the subject. Regarding the limitations that this small investigation has found, there is undoubtedly the lack of works related to port activity in the Guadalquivir, therefore, we believe that our contribution is original in the sense that it serves as a prelude to a further investigation.
