This classroom project was a pedagogical proposal that aimed to improve the grammatical dimension in the oral production in English of eleventh grade students through the use of a list of language fragments - known as opinion starters - as linguistic resources with a formal register to express opinions on social issues in the Colombian context. The strategy was carried out through a role-play interview. The Theme-based instruction model was applied to design the lessons of the project. For this reason, at the beginning of the implementation, a list of social issues related to the Colombian context was proposed to the focus group of students, from which they selected the most attractive topics for them. These topics constituted the content of each lesson. This proposal was carried out through digital platforms.
