    Los días 30 y 31 de marzo de 1689 se celebraron honras, lutos y exequias en la Catedral de Segovia para conmemorar la vida y fijar la memoria de la reina María Luisa de Orleans. En este artículo analizaré los preparativos de la ceremonia fúnebre y las desavenencias a ella asociados. Para realizar esta labor, me serviré de los testimonios de los escribanos del concejo segoviano y de las actas de las reuniones del Cabildo Catedralicio. Seguidamente, realizaré un estudio crítico del libro de exequias para intentar recrear cómo se desarrolló la ceremonia tanto en la ciudad como en la Iglesia. Finalmente, presentaré algunas reflexiones sobre el sermón fúnebre con el propósito de presentar los argumentos rectores del discurso que se predicó ante la comunidad local.

    On March 30 and 31, 1689, funeral ceremonies, mourning and obsequies were held in the Cathedral of Segovia to commemorate the life and fix the memory of Queen Marie Louise of Orleans. In this article I will analyze the organization of the funeral ceremony and the disagreements associated with it. To carry out this work, I will use the testimonies of the scribes of the Segovian Council and the minutes of the meetings of the Cathedral Chapter of Segovia. Afterward, I will study the funeral book to try to recreate how the ceremony unfolded both in the city and in the Church. Finally, I will make some reflections on the funeral sermon with the purpose of presenting the guiding arguments of the speech which was preached to the local community.
