    La guerra civil española ha sido un tema recurrente en la li-teratura y el cine de ficción. Y es notorio cómo muchas de las películas son adaptaciones de —o están inspiradas en— obras literarias. En este artículo nos detenemos en este fenómeno para analizar el recorrido de la construcción de la memoria a partir de variaciones narrativas, así como la influencia de la fotografía del conflicto en la puesta en escena y puesta en cuadro fílmica. El artículo toma como casos de estudio Tierra y libertad (Land and Freedom, Ken Loach, 1995), inspirada en la novela de Geor-ge Orwell Homenaje a Cataluña (Homage to Catalonia, 1938), centrada en los combatientes extranjeros, y Libertarias (Vicente Aranda, 1996), dedicada a las mujeres combatientes que adapta La monja libertaria de Antonio Rabinad (1981). Ambos trabajos cinematográficos han derivado, posteriormente, en la creación de obra fotográfica original, a partir de fotografías tomadas durante los rodajes. La primera en el fotolibro Tierra y libertad, de Paco Rangel (Polvora Verlag, 2021), y la segunda en Memorias revolucionarias de Martí Llorens (Mestizo, 1999), añadiendo una tercera capa a los diálogos entre relatos e imaginarios

    The Spanish civil war has been a recurring theme in literature and cinema. And it is notorious how many of the films are adap-tations of—or are inspired by—literary works. In this article we examine this phenomenon in order to analyse the construction of memory through narrative variations, as well as the influence of the photographs of the conflict on the cinematographic stag-ing and framing. The article takes as case studies Land and Free-dom (Ken Loach, 1995), inspired by George Orwell’s novel Hom-age to Catalonia (1938), which focuses on foreign volunteers, and Libertarias (Vicente Aranda, 1996), dedicated to women militias, which adapts Antonio Rabinad’s La monja libertaria(1981). Both films have subsequently led to the creation of origi-nal photographic works based on photographs taken during the shootings. The first in the photobook Tierra y libertad by Paco Rangel (Polvora Verlag, 2021), and the second in Memorias revo-lucionarias by Martí Llorens (Mestizo, 1999), adding a third layer to the dialogues between stories and imaginaries
