Resumen de Metodología para la práctica docente de la traducción teatral

Elena Serrano Bertos

  • In this paper we reflect on the teaching practice of literary translation in the university sector —specifically with regard to theatrical translation and its different applications—. The different types of theatre translation are exposed according to the purpose of the translation, the corresponding human factor —translator, publisher, theatre director, dramatist, actors, etc.— involved in them and the role of the latter in the translation process. Likewise, the common characteristics and the differences between the different types of translation are shown in the present paper and an exercise is proposed through which it is possible to put these contents into practice in the literary translation class. All this with the aim of bringing students closer to the reality of the labor market in the field of literary translation —and specifically of theatrical translation— in a more dynamic and enjoyable way through which they take an active part in the learning process.
