Resumen de Evaluación de la resolución de problemas aritméticos en Primaria

  Se analiza la dificultad de los niños de 4º, 5º y 6º de Primaria (9, 10 y 11 años) para seleccionar las operaciones adecuadas cuando resuelven problemas verbales de estructura aditiva de dos etapas. El objetivo es poner de manifiesto la competencia que tienen los niños en la resolución de estos problemas aritméticos y en qué medida se ve afectada por el tipo de relación (aumento o disminución) en la primera y segunda posición. El diseño es de tipo factorial mixto con dos variables intersujeto (colegio y curso) y una variable intrasujeto (relación de aumento o disminución en primera posición) con medidas repetidas en esta última variable. Las conclusiones obtenidas son: a) la capacidad de resolución de problemas aritméticos de los alumnos se desarrolla al pasar de 4º a 6ª. b) La variable "tipo de relación" influye en la dificultad de elegir el proceso adecuado de solución.

  We analyze the difficulty of Primary School children of 4°, 5° and 6° levels (9, 10 and 11 years old), into choice of the proper operations when they try to solve two-steps arithmetical word problems with additive structure. Our goal is to set up the ability of the pupils to solve such kind of arithmetic problem and to value the way in that the kind of relationship (increase or decrease) both in first or second position affects this ability. We have used a repeated measure design with two between-subjects factors (teaching institution and course) and one within-subjects factor (relationship in first and second position). The obtained conclusions are: a) the ability of the pupils in arithmetic problem solving is developed upon going from 4° to 6°. b) The variable «type of relationship» influences the difficulty of choosing the adequate process of solution.
