Uma análise das dificuldades de licenciandos em Matemática sobre o conceito de função

    We present in this article the results of an investigation about the knowledge that Mathematician licenseeshave about functions when they enter college. The participants answered a questionnaire with six questions about functions and in this article, we analyzed two of them, that are about definition and the graphical representation of functions. The answers were classified according to an error analysis andanalyzed based on the theorical ideas that talk about the interaction of algorithmical, intuitive and formal aspects. The protocol analysis revealed difficulties from most of the participants on presenting a definition of function and identifying the graphs that represent or not functions. Besides that, many of the participants revealed that they don’t articulate the idea they bring about the concept of function in the interpretation of functions and non-functions graph representations.

    Nesse artigo são apresentados os resultados de uma investigação acerca do conhecimento que licenciandos em Matemática têm sobre funções assim que ingressam na universidade. Os 42 participantes responderam a um questionário diagnóstico com seis questões sobre funções, e neste artigo analisamos duas delas, que tratam sobre a definição e a representação gráfica de funções. As respostas foram classificadas segundo uma análise de erros e posteriormente agrupadas em tabelas de frequência. A análise dos dados está embasada nas ideias teóricas que versam sobre a interação de aspectos algorítmicos, intuitivos e formais. A análise dos protocolos revelou dificuldades da maioria dos participantes em apresentar uma definição de função e em identificar gráficos que representam/não representam funções. Além disso, grande parte dos participantes revelou não articular a ideia que trazem sobre o conceito de função na interpretação de representações gráficas de funções e não funções.
