Resumen de Aprender Matemática com compreensão: raciocínio matemático e ensino exploratório

This article aims to discuss how exploratory teaching practices can promote the development of mathematical understanding and reasoning in students from the earlyyears.It begins by discussing, based on the literature, what is meant by exploratory teaching and namely the role of tasks and mathematical communication in this approach.Clarifies what is considered to be mathematical reasoning.Types and processes of reasoning are also discussed based on different authors.The analyzed data correspond to two episodes of collective discussion of an exploratory task performed in the 2nd year of schooling, where the processes of justifying, generalizing, comparing,classifying and exemplifying are present.It is concluded that the teacher's actions are essential for students to advance in the development of their mathematical understanding and engage in different reasoning processes.

Este artigo tem como objetivo discutir como práticas de ensino exploratório podem ser promotoras do desenvolvimento da compreensão e do raciocínio matemáticos nos estudantes desde os anos iniciais. Começa por discutir, com base na literatura, o que se entende por ensino exploratório e designadamente o papel das tarefas e da comunicação matemática nesta abordagem. Clarifica o que se considera ser raciocínio matemático. Tipos e processos de raciocínio são também discutidos com base em diferentes autores. Os dados analisados correspondem a dois episódios da discussão coletiva de uma tarefa exploratória realizada no 2º ano de escolaridade, onde os processos de justificar, generalizar, comparar, classificar e exemplificar estão presentes. Conclui-se que as ações da professora são essenciais para que os alunos avancem no desenvolvimento da sua compreensão matemática e se envolvam em diferentes processos de raciocínio.
